Giving Thanks!

I know what you're going to say, it's way past Thanksgiving you slacker!  4 days in blogger world is like an eternity but what can you do, sometimes you just get too busy living life!  I just had to share some yummy pictures of our Orphans Thanksgiving Celebration this year.  We spent turkey day with 3 other lovely couples from church who are also without family in the Seattle area and together we created our own family!  I was reminded of just how thankful I am for delicious food,  great friendships and especially for the wonderful family I so dearly missed on this joyous holiday.  I hope your day was also spent giving thanks and enjoying the marvelous company of those around you!  We're so richly blessed....

Pink Pink!
We had a little help from our good friends at Idahoan ;) Shhhhh...

Nick's yummy homemade rolls.....Mmmm

I couldn't be more thankful to be married to this one of a kind man. :)

Late night Sushi Run...

I've been feeling a bit under the weather for the last couple of days unfortunately so i've been staying home and resting most of the time.  Thankfully last night I was able to break free and go on a little adventure with my wonderful husband.  First to Walgreen's to pick up my antibiotics and then a quick stop at a local sushi restaurant in Lynnwood called Edina Sushi to quench a late night craving for California rolls. :) After picking up our order my sweet husband then proceeded to pull a "cookie" in the empty parking lot just to put a smile on my face and it absolutely made my night.  He's my favorite. :)  I'm so thankful for loving husbands and late night sushi rolls...

Wintery Wonderland

What a beautiful sight to see!  It actually snowed here!  Such a great way to start off the holiday season.  Its been over 2 years since little white flakes last fell from the sky here in Seattle and today it felt like they fell especially for me!  Looking out my window and seeing the ground covered in snow reminded me of Nebraska winters and for a moment it felt like home! :)

I love the smell of burning fire wood and the heater kicking on and the crisp clean air that comes after a fresh snow fall.  Who can resist a delicious cup of hot cider, some reese's puffs cereal and a cuddle on the couch?  The holiday season has officially begun!  What do you look forward to the most during these cheerful times?

Ode to Central Park

I just couldn't get enough of this beautiful spot so I decided to post a couple more pictures that I thought deserved a glance!

It was our first time experiencing this delightful little wonderland and we truly enjoyed every min we spent strolling and laughing and people watching.  The trees were absolutely gorgeous too, perfect time of year to go and watch the leaves fall to the ground and just take in all the colors and the smells (some good, some not so good ;)) and see a different side of New York.

Nick (my husband) and I cozy'd up on a park bench and spent some time writing out postcards while listening to a fantastic little 4 piece jazz band play in one of the open area's.  One of the most memorable moments though was when an older couple came up and requested a song and the gentleman started boldly singing right along to his lovely wife as she stood there in the pathway just beaming. :) Talk about melt your heart.  I want to be that couple someday.  Just give us a few more years and a street band and we'll have it made.

Now you're in New York!

I'm back!  It feels like it's been so long since last I posted.  It's time for a catch up!  I had the fantastic privilege of spending this last week/weekend in NYC with my wonderful husband!  He flew over as part of an MBA interview process and I just got to tag along for fun.  Talk about a lucky lady right!

We had a fabulous time exploring the city, strolling through Central Park and enjoying the beautiful fall weather.  We were able to catch a show on Broadway and even see the Veterans day parade march up and down 5th Avenue.  Our hotel where we stayed was just off of Times Square so as each evening came to an end we'd say goodnight to the shining lights and crowds of people and happily walk home.

Subway stations, Madison square park, shopping on the Ave and late night ice cream stops made for a very memorable experience!  Not to mention spending the night in a New York Train station and New Jersey airport.  I love adventuring with my husband and this trip was no exception.  Thank you for letting me tag along sweetie!

Life's a Zoo

I just recently had the opportunity to visit the local zoo with a friend of mine and we had an absolutely splendid time!  It was a beautiful jacket and jeans sort of day so we couldn't have asked for much more. Penguins and monkey's and parrots oh my!

<---- This sign reminded me of the good old days driving my truck at Kilimanjaro Safari's at Animal Kingdom. :)

<---- The greatest display idea for cockroaches I've ever seen :)
